Novena to St Padre Pio with the Capuchin Friars Australia
As the Feast of St. Padre Pio approaches, we invite you to pray the Novena to St. Padre Pio with the Capuchin Friars from 14 to 22 September 2026; The Capuchin Friars will offer Novena Masses for nine days, from 14 to 22 September 2026, in honour of St. Padre Pio at the Chapel of St. Francis of Assisi Friary, including any special intentions we receive. If you would like your prayer intentions included in these Masses, please complete the Mass Intention slip (at the back of the church) and return it by post or email. Your generous Mass offerings and donations will support the formation and education of our student friars.

We are blessed to currently have three student friars. Br. Duy Tran is preparing for his Perpetual Profession, which will take place in October this year, while Br. Isaac Seraphin and Br. Stephen John are in their Temporary Vows and still undergo Initial Formation. We also expect to welcome two young Postulants (first-year students) on the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 8 September 2026. We humbly ask your prayers that the Lord will grant these young men perseverance and joy as they follow the footsteps of St. Francis in seeking to conform their lives to Christ.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT on Ongoing Roof Works at Guardian Angels Church
1. Wheelchairs and large prams cannot fit through any of the church entrances.
2. Toilets are unavailable as they have been barricaded but a portalet is available for use at the carpark slot near the church entrance.
3. Carpark is limited (5 regular slots and 1 handicap slot).
We advice street parking. The Guardian Angels Church carpark remains limited to Mass attendees and is NOT accessible to the public until roof works are completed.
4. For weekday Masses, we request parishioners to kindly exit the church and carpark as soon as the morning Mass is finished so workers and truck deliveries can promptly begin by 7:30am.
5. Church windows will remain bolted shut (to protect the stained glass) until roof repairs are completed.
6. Morning tea after Mass is temporarily CANCELLED until completion of roof works.
7. Children’s Liturgy CANCELLED due to Parish Hall repairs.
NOTE the following temporary change of our Friday Morning Schedule below:
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament - Cancelled
Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help - Cancelled
Noon Mass (12pm Friday) - Cancelled
8. Kindly practice caution at all times by walking slowly, watching where you step as well as scanning the area for any overhead hazards.
